In a defining moment, head coach Marcus Freeman<\/strong> joined the group with enthusiasm, raising his fist toward the student section before the band began to play. The No. 7 Fighting Irish defeated No. 10 Indiana 27-17, relying on their signature strengths: a dominant defense, explosive runs, and relentless physicality that had defined their season.<\/p>\n

A Historic Achievement for Notre Dame<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This win was unlike any other. Notre Dame became the first program to secure a victory in a College Football Playoff game on campus. It was also their first Friday home game since 1900, played in front of a passionate crowd braving snowy conditions.<\/p>\n

Freeman reflected on the historic night, saying:
